Hello! My name is Yamir, a student here at USC Hybrid High School who applies the district's Positive Multigenerational Change motto in our world through volunteering and supporting those in need. One of my main passions is to help others. I believe my background in English as my second language & being a first-generation college student has shaped who I am. Three words that describe me are passionate, determined, and empathetic. These values contribute to my community as I apply them daily. In five years, I picture myself pursuing a career as a detective within the Los Angeles Police Department, where I can use my strengths to inspire others & protect my community.

Family Background
While my family and I have faced many challenges throughout our lives, I am very close with my siblings and father. My father came from Mexico and has worked hard to provide for our family. Growing up with my siblings has helped shape who I am today. After being kicked out of my home by my mother for expressing myself, my aunt took me in and has cared for me ever since. Her support and guidance have played an important role in helping me overcome obstacles and continue pursuing my goals.
Inspirations
I am inspired by my Auntie she has made the biggest impact in my life embracing me and my sister with open arms. She has taught me to be open about my feelings, goals, and encouraged me to complete my high school journey even when I didn't have the motivation myself.
Dreams & Goals
My current goals are to join the United States Army and enlist in the National Guard while pursuing a college degree in psychology. I also hope to achieve my dream of becoming a detective with the Los Angeles Police Department. I want to build a stable and successful life while using my position to make a positive impact in my community.

The Foundation of My Success
At home, I have several important responsibilities; one of my roles is taking care of my younger sibling and assisting them with anything they need, and helping with chores. Ever since I moved back in with my auntie, she has wanted me to focus on my education and raise my grades as they have fallen. I also lead by example to my younger siblings, my showing maturity at home and being responsible.
My Proudest Accomplishment
My greatest accomplishment was at Hybrid, and it was receiving the Golden Trojan Award. This award is the highest citizenship award given to students who demonstrate themselves. Earning this award means a lot to me because I worked really hard throughout my sophomore year, even when I faced challenges. Despite the difficult moments, I stayed committed to school and remained involved in the Hybrid community.
